Hmmm. "The Danites" (on the poster extreme right, if I've read it correctly) was a popular theatrical production advertised in the theatrical newspaper The Era at many venues between 1880 and 1900 (mostly 1880s). So I suggest that the picture is near some popular resort with a theatre.

USS Saratoga (CV-3) was initially laid down as a battlecruiser (USS Saratoga (CC-3)), While under construction she'd be converted into an aircraft carrier (along with the namesake of the class, USS Lexington (CV-2)), due to the limitations of the 1922 Washington Naval Conference. She was launched at New York Shipbuilding, Camden, NJ, on April 7, 1925. She'd go one to have one of the most distinguished battle records of any American warship. Eventually, she would be used as a test target and sunk by the detonation of an atomic device at Bikini Atoll on July 25, 1946, during Operation Crossroads.
