Elise Kutscherra DeNys, Belgian operatic soprano based in Paris, specialized in Wagner parts--the surname Kutschera is sometimes spelled with only one R (I'm finding it both ways, in news sources and other places). She's mentioned in a 12 November 1914 New York Times brief article, tracking down impresario Rudolf Aronson after their correspondence was disrupted by the war.

Oops! Sorry for the mix up. This is one of five captions and images that got out of alignment back when the negatives were first scanned. Now fixed!

American poet Berton Braley and writer Marion Rubincam were married in 1915, reportedly on Henry Ford's Peace Ship. The couple separated in 1920.

His wikipedia entry: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berton_Braley The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. Jenkin Lloyd Jones (photo nearby) according to The Bolivar Breeze, Dec. 9, 1915. The Milwaukee Journal, Dec. 5, 1915 has another version of the story. About their divorce: The Pittsburgh Press, Jan. 26, 1920
