    While USNS Twin Falls (the white hull on the left side of the frame) was scrapped in 1983, the Liberty Ship SS John W. Brown was preserved and restored. The ship still sails today out of Baltimore as an operating museum and memorial dedicated to the men and women who built and sailed Liberty Ships during World War II. Tillman commanded the schoolship Newport and on March 29, 1913 (two days before the date on the negative of 3/31/13) there were to be the fourth annual athletic games of the New York Nautical School on the Recreation Pier at the end of East 24th St.
