  Jack Hilliard (right back to camera , closest in pic) has a beer distribution company in Temple TX, hence the Budweiser mugs. As of 2023 the compnay is still in business. Jack's disposition is not known

  What a beautiful example of Italianate architecture! Is this building still standing?

  If that building isn't still standing, it's a crime. This kind of architecture should never be replaced by supermarkets and gas stations. It has such history, such stories to tell. I hope someone has saved it.

  Interesting that they advertised that it is air conditioned. Probably a pretty rare thing at that time and a strong enticement to potential customers of the cafe on a hot day.
