  Caption from Catalogue of official A.E.F. photographs (1919): "Capt. W. C. Schauffler, Jr. (standing), and Lieut. Fred A. Tillman in observer's seat of one of Ninetieth Aero Squadron planes. Lieut. Tillman is son of late Senator Tillman. Plane shows insignia of squadron, called " Pair-a-Dice " Squadron. Gun is a double Lewis machine gun. Ninetieth Aero Squadron, Seventy- ninth Division.   This is 1st Lieut. Arthur E. Easterbrook, with twin Lewis guns and 1st Lieut. Arthur J. Coyle, then 1st Aero Squadron commanding officer, with Coyle’s Salmson #24. Easterbrook flew missions with Coyle when Erwin was flying missions with Baucom. Note the German Cross patches covering the bullet holes in the fuselage. “Gertrude R” was the name of Easterbrook’s fiancée whom he married after the war.
