This space was an RDS lecture theater until 1922, so this must be 1922-39. From wikipedia: it was decided to hire the main RDS Lecture Theatre attached to Leinster House for use in December 1922 as a temporary Dáil chamber. The building was bought outright from the RDS in 1924.

The room is octagonal in shape and its original seating capacity was 700. Little alteration was needed to adapt it for parliamentary purposes - the floor was raised and the seating capacity reduced. This photo matches a modern one, so I think it is after the alterations. The DIA says "alts for use as Dail" were from 1925-29, so I think this is earliest 1925.

The RTE stills library has some shots from 1969, no help. The flat wall with the pictures hung on it has been painted white by then, dark in this picture.

I wonder what all the controls on that piece of furniture are for?

Road a railway viewpoint there may be interesting things here. Does that not show the former sidings to Ballsbridge with a train on it? And was not site of the Dublin and Kingston Railway's original "engine hospital", before move to Canal Street, on the other side of the main line just to the right of the junction? The river will be the Dodder, described by Bergin as "Dublin's River", the railway bridge over it being destroyed in a storm in November 1834 just before it opened. Now there's Facebook(Meta) here with weird green walls or something. ( I've not cross checked anything I'm rambling on about).😇

The hat and the roof of the grandstand match this picture from the Illustrated London News of 26th August 1950.

Judging from a picture in the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News - Wednesday 24 August 1949 (which includes the presidental collar, matching this time), The picture was taken at the 1949 event, and the military man on the right is Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
