The photos featuring Elsie Hanneman and "canoe tilting" were taken at the Colonial Yacht Club, located on the small beach just below Riverside Drive on the Hudson River, roughly between 140th and 142nd Streets in Harlem. Today, the Henry Hudson Parkway and North River Wastewater Treatment Plant occupies this and surrounding property. However, in 1993 the site returned to being a place of recreation, as Riverbank State Park was constructed on top of the wastewater plant, some 69-ft above the Hudson. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverbank_State_Park

Riverside Drive at approx 96th St., NYC Building at extreme right with the balconies is the Peter Stuyvesant, 258 Riverside Drive (balconies are gone but you can still see where they were if you look at the Google Streetview pics)

Thanks David Pirmann. Looking at Google Maps, the concrete railing on the overpass where Riverside Drive crosses 96th St. seems to match those in the photo. I'll ask our catalogers to add a note about the location.

Thanks for identification Art Siegel. We'll update the catalog record.
