Has the owner of the photo been determined? I am curious as my DNA leads to Redmond family in Co Armagh.

He died in 1885, so either the dates are wrong or this is a copy (although I think Poole copies are usually noted as such?)

Was Mr Poole making a copy of an earlier photo? James Delahunty died in 1885. And a 1872 Vanity Fair caricature - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Delahunty Delahunty "was laughed at because of the dullness of his oratory". In 1878 he caused amusement in the Commons by spreading on his bench sundry personal items taken from his bag in a long search for the notes for his speech on the Money Laws (Ireland) Bill. [Ed. From snippets in various newspapers, James Delahunty was a member of the Irish Parliamentary Party; of the Home Rule League; on the council of the Society for the Preservation of the Irish Language; and active on the land question.

I knew a farmer once who would stay on "old time", in his case he ignored the one hour movements in March and October. British Summer Time was first established by the Summer Time Act 1916, after a campaign by builder William Willett. His original proposal was to move the clocks forward by 80 minutes, in 20-minute weekly steps on Sundays in April and by the reverse procedure in September. In 1916 BST began on 21 May and ended on 1 October.

National Library of Ireland on The Commons It seems that Old Time was a rural and farming practice. listserv.heanet.ie/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind1303&L=seanchas-l... When the idea was introduced in Ireland it was adopted in the towns and cities, but not everywhere by farming communities. In the rural district in which I lived the newly-introduced summer time was called "New Time" but we had "Old Time" all year round. We had to be careful when planning to attend an event elsewhere; was it "New Time" or "Old Time"

I don't think it's a hunt, but instead some sort of Home Rule events like a demonstration. The badges (?) say "Home Rule Committee" on them, so I think they are some of the marshals for the parade/demonstration.
