She would have been 38 in 1914. It looks like she is posing here as the ghost of someone's departed loved one, while Kanno depicts a mourner, bereft and crumpled at the grave.

I've never seen it as it was - I'd simply been to music concerts there during the 1980s. It looks stunning as it was.
