beachcomber australia Think you're right, we had a hunch that might be the case. That is strange, SLNSW must have the vessel wrong as PRESIDENTE SARMIENTO did not visit Sydney after 1928.

Sarmiento Trip 1902 Zarpó el 20 de Febrero de 1901 y regresó el 13 de Febrero de 1902. Bahía Blanca - San Antonio - San José - Madryn - Cabo Raso - Tillí - Santa Cruz -Gallegos - Punta Arenas - Cabo Pilar (salida al Pacífico) - Papeeté (Tahití) - Apia (Samoa) - Suva (Fidji) - Auckland - Wellington - Melbourne - Sidney - Brisbane -Thursday-Island - Timor - Macassar - Singapore - Pointe de Galle - Bombay - Aden -Massaua - Suez - Ismailía - Port Said - Alejandría - De este último se dirigió a Gibraltar para trasbordar los Aspirantes al vapor italiano "SIRIO" y dirigirse luego a Spezia para embarcar material de guerra. El personal destacado llegó a Buenos Aires el 8 de Enero y la Fragata el 13 de Febrero de 1902. Navegó 33.803 millas.
