What a lovely photo. I have many fond memories of the old East End Plaza, when it was "open" like this. It was never the same after they put the roof on, and now it's depressing to walk through the place. Thank you for uploading this.

The square, Tregaron

The statue is of Henry Richard (1812-1888) a politician born in Tregaron, Wales. More information about him on Welsh Biography Online and on Wikipedia.

It is the bicentenary of Henry Richard's birth on 3 April 2012 and various events are being held to mark the occasion including a service of hymn singing in the square in Tregaron at 7pm on 3 April, an exhibition of his life and work in the Rhiannon Centre, also on the square, opening on 30 March, a Peace Fair at Y Talbot (Talbot Hotel seen in photo above) with Monsignor Bruce Kent as the guest of honour, and a service at the cemetery in Stoke Newington, London on Sunday 1 April.
