  During a reunion of the 100th Indiana Infantry Regiment at Indianapolis on September 24, 1889, "The daughter of the regiment, a bright little girl about eleven years old, Miss Isa L. Upson, of New Milford, gave during the evening some stirring war recitations that were warmly applauded," according to a page 7 article in the September 25, 1889, Indianapolis Journal.
