The Centre Block containing the Parliament building was destroyed by fire on 3 February 1916.

As a note, this image would have likely been taken in February 1916 note the frozen hoses and damaged building. The Government of Canada moved quickly to rebuild Parliament, and the Duke of Connaught re-laid the cornerstone for the new parliament in September 1, 1916. www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/citeparlementaire-parliamentaryprec...
