This must have been taken sometime in 1916. Olympic was chartered by the Canadian government in that year for troop transport and was still painted in wartime grey with blackened funnels (as shown). In 1917, and until the end of the war, she was painted in dazzle camouflage.

Believe that is known as 'Dazzle' painting on the liner being used as a troopship

This is a photo of RMS Olympic (HMT Olympic), sister-ship of the ill-fated Titanic and Brittanic, in the dazzle camouflage scheme she wore during the First World War.

The RMS Olympic is of course the sister ship of the Titanic. RMS Olympic was the lead ship of the Olympic-class ocean liners built for the White Star Line, which also included Titanic and Britannic. Unlike her sisters, Olympic served a long and illustrious career (1911 to 1935), including service as a troopship during World War I, earning the nickname "Old Reliable." For a short time she was the largest ocean liner in the world. RMS Adriatic (1907–1935) was an ocean liner belonging to the White Star Line. She was the fourth of a quartet of ships measuring over 20,000 tons, dubbed The Big Four, and the only one of the four which was never the world's largest ship. But she was the fastest and the biggest of all Big Four. She was as big as her sister, RMS Celtic, and nearly identical in outward appearance. She was the first ocean liner to have an indoor swimming pool and Turkish bath.
