    Can you turn tagging on?
  • Bergen Public Library Norway said:
@Eric done. I guess the presets moved without me noticing. Thanks ;>
  • Eric Hunt said:
Yup, it can do that. There is a setting to turn tagging on for all future uploads - make sure you have that turned on and this shouldn't happen again. Thanks!

Nikitas Tsimouris playing a tsambouna: Tarpon Springs, Florida

Wow! -- who knew? (I didn't ;-) I wondered what it sounded like, and found this short recording.
  • Florida Memory said:
Thanks for the link, Pixel Wrangler. Audio for Florida folk musicians is also available at the Florida Memory Web site. For a clip of Nikitas Tsimouris playing a tsambouna, you can go to www.floridamemory.com/Collections/folklife/sound_greek.cfm .

Thanks! Your audio files are better than what I supplied. BTW, I had no idea the depth of your collection ... audio files, films, videos, and tens of thousands of papers and documents dating back to the 1800's. (I may still have little idea ;-)

He has a kind , Sweet young face. It was difficult in those days and hopefully his life got better. Suppose he is in Heaven now. Life back then was really hard.

Handsome boy! Stole a violin-imagine...he probably was desperate to play it but couldn't afford it...with more money and opportunity who knows what he may have accomplished.

He is fortunate they only gave him a month. Back then the sentences were harsh. I wonder why he wanted the violin. To sell it or to learn how to play the instrument. Hope he had a good life.

What a handsome young soldier! It's absolutely gut wrenching to think about what the poor folks of this time went through 💔.
