Was born in Klundert (Noord Schans) near Breda , this shot is very special to me for the personal bond with the geography, but , the plane , the dog cart, the typical, "Noord Brabant" landscape,the perspective ... Very Nice !

The picture is taken just north of Venlo. The railway is the former railway Venlo-Straelen-Wesel near wachtpost 66 at the Molenstraat. At the background the distantsignal of the former railway-yard Venlo Oostsingel. The railwaycrossing on the foreground is in the Oude Weg, Have a look at www.historiekaart.nl .

The windmill to the left most likely is the 'Overveerpolder', near the 'Warmonderhek' in Warmond. Not far away from the 'Schuttersveld', military parade ground in Leiden. This particular windmill ceased to exist around 1930. Almost the same picture, in a lesser quality, can be found in the archives of the Dutch Windmill Database Organisation ( www.molendatabase.nl ).
