    PORT SAID, Sept. 28. -- At 9:50 o'clock this morning the wreck of the British steamer Chatham, with her cargo of ninety tons of dynamite and blasting gelatine, was blown up by mines distributed around and inside her hull. These were fired by an electric current from Raselech, about five miles away.

    How neat! I've been organizing all of the animal photos from The Commons and haven't seen any others that mention rabbits being kept by soldiers. The one on the left and the center one are both Dutch rabbits.

I read a diary reprint of a cavalryman who spoke of the regimental horseshows..but he didn't mention anything like this..looks painful to all concerned as others have said..the led horse looks pulled off balance, the rider is being swivelled round, probably pulling his own horse off balance a little..not the easiest of races to compete in.
