    Everyone: Thank you for your comments! While Minas Geraes was the name of this ship and so should remain the spelling in the caption, it makes sense to add the modern spelling of Minas Gerais to the record for those searching by that term. We'll add that when we update the record.

    It's probably a cruiser; it looks a bit small for a dreadnought anyway, and the all big gun nature of the armament would rule out a pre-dreadnought battleship.
