    The truck is a Quad artillery tractor. While most Quads were made by the Morris motor company some were also made by Ford and by Chevrolet. While the Ford and Morris versions are very similar this is in fact a Chevrolet version with the drivers cab distinctively narrower than the crew section. The fact that this is a Chevrolet means that the soldiers unit is almost certainly Canadian. The gun in tow was likely to be either a 25pdr artillery gun or 17pdr anti-tank gun. The Quad was designed as such to be virtually useless as a general cargo transport. This so that in times of crises higher authorities wouldn't reassign the trucks elsewhere on the battlefield leaving the guns stranded.

I would not have known much about Odense as a foreigner and I was surprised to learn that the name probably originated when it was a centre of worship to the god Odin! The people of Odense had good reason to celebrate the liberation: "Ever since 1937, the mayor has been a Social Democrat, and during the German occupation of the Second World War, the general strike in Odense held in August 1943 was a major contributor to the collapse of the policy of collaboration with the Germans, on 29 August 1943." It took courage to stand up to the Nazi's and to lead the way!
