Sub-Lieutenant H V Bartlett

    Howard Volins Bartlett was born on the 1 April 1898 at Blundellsands in Lancashire, son of Samuel Bartlett and Emily Volins. In 1911, aged 13, he was a naval cadet at the Royal Naval College on the Isle of Wight. He married Angela Margaret Webster in 1939 in the Chelsea district of London. More information about HMS Malaya can be found on Google, including: www.roll-of-honour.com/Ships/HMSMalaya.html Lieutenant to be Captain. H. V. Bartlett. 29th June 1920. Source: THE LONDON GAZETTE, 6 OCTOBER, 1922. Howard Volins Bartlett died in the Colchester district of Essex in 1988.
