President Thomas Woodrow Wilson had declined special recognition during his visit to Princeton, either as President of the U. S., or as former president of Princeton University -- deciding instead that he simply wanted to march around the campus with fellow members of the Princeton Class of 1879, which was observing its 35th anniversary with a reunion during Princeton's commencement week.
