  Testimony to the slow film speeds. The shallow depth of field shows that the photographer was shooting with a wide aperture, and the blur of the walking guy's foot makes it look like about 1/30th or 1/60th of a second. Nowadays, we'd shoot this at a smaller aperture & faster shutter speed.

  Without a doubt this ship is berthing in Hoboken NJ. You can spot the Woolworth Building and NYC Municipal buildings at left. The big blob of a building can be seen even today from Hoboken - located at Christopher and Washington in Manhattan.
