    Aww what a sad, cruel story - he's a 'baby' and far too young to leave his mother, especially when she's so ill - armies are cruel!! If this was my boy and they put him in jail for dissertion I'd break him out . . . if I was ill like his mother was, and they did that, I'd probably have died of a broken heart.
