  Roy Niswanger I do know they add annotations on photos where some detail was added to them, so I guess they probably would have done so here as well. The styles (lapels, ties, collars, children haircuts) match what I think would be 1920s. What are they welcoming? Who knows.

  This is a photo of Army Air Service aviators John Macready and Oakley G. Kelly apparently celebrating their non-stop flight in a Fokker T-2 from Roosevelt Field, Long Island to Rockwell Field, San Diego.
