    lifeasdaddy, you're exactly right! According to the publication 'Government Schools of NSW, 1848 to 1998' by the NSW Department of Education and Training, Linburn operated as a public school from March 1880 - October 1929. It was known as Cooyal Diggings until 1881.

    Nowadays we have things they didn't, a partial list. Running water, insecticide, hot showers. solid walls. deodorant, and the list goes on. It makes me think of the bedbugs they fed each night. I wont deny it was a grand time though. 14 hour days and all.
