Por los años en que debió tomarse esta fotografía, todavía existia una pequeña villa frente a la antigua Basílica de Guadalupe, en la ciudad de México. Por eso la gente acostumbraba a decir "vamos a la villa" cuando se referían que acudían a visitar la Basílica de Guadalupe. Con el paso de los años los edificios cercanos a la Basílica fueron demolidos para dar paso a una amplísima explanada. Al poniente de esta se construyó la Nueva Basílica de Guadalupe. Hoy en día todavía decimos "vamos a la villa" Al decir Guadalupe o Villa de Guadalupe también se puede referir a Guadalupe, Estado de Zacatecas. En esta foto es mas posible se trate de la Ciudad de México.

This picture was most likely taken from Cerro del Gallo. On the foremost ground is the roof of Teatro Juárez; the trees to its left are those of Jardín de la Victoria. The bell tower and vault to the left midle ground belong to La Compañía (de Jesús) Church.
