Very modern, yet without any technology and centered around the fireplace reminding us about how humans for many thousands of years have gathered around fires. Is there something we be have forgotten or have the gatherings just changed form?

Anders Dinsen The 'fireplace' housed the air conditioner. Darjoa, 14 Longworth Ave Point Piper - named for the Edwards' radio programme - Darby & Joan. " ̳Darjoa‘, the four-level Inter-War residential flat building at No. 14 Longworth Avenue, Point Piper, was designed by Samuel Lipson in the Inter-War Functionalist style and was constructed in 1937. The building comprises three flats, each of which occupies an entire floor of the building, and each of which is located below street level. An entrance lobby is located at street level, together with three conjoined garages." - Woollahra Council. When the Edwards' unit was sold in 1954 - the other two were being rented for $31.50 per week. library.sydneylivingmuseums.com.au/fullRecord.jsp?recnoLi...
