  This is not the coast of Puerto Rico but downtown Christiansted St Croix. The point in the distance with the white structure is Ft Louise Augusta. The bandstand stands today although the area that was for many years a parking area has now been reclaimed by the NPS and is grass. The large tree (a tamarind) is blocking Fort Christiansvaern. If you would like further evidence there is a photo of Transfer Day celebrations the following year (1942) which shows the same bandstand after some white paint had been applied.
