Illustrated front cover from The Queenslander, 29 November 1928

Great cover. Looking at scorecards from around that date I suspect the batsman is supposed to be Queensland's Roy Higgins, who was bowled for a duck in the second innings of the MCC's tour match at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground in November 1928.

The cover was illustrated by the artist Garnet Agnew. He was an illustrator for 'The Brisbane Courier and its weekly magazine, 'The Queenslander Illustrated Weekly', creating cover illustrations for these publications between 1926 and 1930. His other mediums included oils, watercolor, and lino-cuts. Agnew painted murals on the walls of the West Coast Hotel in Cooktown. Source: catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/489300

This illustration could be related to Sir Don Bradman - The greatest duck in cricket history and missing out on an average of 100. Source: sportslumo.com/cricket/sir-don-bradman-the-greatest-duck-...
