The club was founded in 1892. In 1912, it sold this property and moved to land at Forest Hills, Queens, where an even bigger Tudor-style clubhouse was erected.

I like the man doing impressive things with his hose, and the impression that the fairies at the bottom of this Garden live in a magical Palace. pellethepoet Well spotted! I have an idea that many of the series of Botanic Gardens photos are much earlier than thought, early 1880s. See comments here -
