It is interesting.. the reference to her as "Mlle" strongly suggests it is a contraction of "Mademoiselle", likewise her last name sounds French. However, there are almost no French words, let alone names, beginning with K.

Do you think it would be possible to post the back image showing handwriting too?

A curious request posted by "theducks." We have not considered posting the reverse side of an image, for we are careful to include any text that may be on the back of an image in the "Description" field directly below the image. However, the style of the notes on an image can be just as interesting as the image itself. We have therefore posted the reverse side of all three images we hold of "Mlle. K. Bonneire" on the photostream we recently created for the Smithsonian Institution Archives (SIA) at www.flickr.com/photos/siaflickr/. The reverse sides of the Mlle. K. Bonneire images is our first posting on the SIA Flickr photostream, but we will add additional images in the future Thank you for your comments, and feel free to send more!

The club was founded in 1892. In 1912, it sold this property and moved to land at Forest Hills, Queens, where an even bigger Tudor-style clubhouse was erected.
