In order for home delivery of the mail to occur, Lethbridge had to first pass a by-law (which was done in 1910) changing street names to numbers.

The monument to ‘Alberta’s Coal Pioneers’, which specifically recognizes Nicholas Sheran as the first commercial coal miner in the province, still stands in Galt Gardens at its original location.
