Used by Gottlieb in his book "The golden age of jazz": books.google.com/books?id=Oha9knuAIhwC&pg=PA56&lp... At www.docudharma.com/diary/4379/ the blogger quotes from Anita O'Day's autobiography (she sang with Krupa's band) about a "battle" with Lunceford that she remembers as being in Baltimore, just after she joined Krupa's band, which appears to have been in early 1941. books.google.com/books?id=LUNsQC-iKw0C&lpg=PP1&ot... But, of course, there could have been several "battles" between Krupa and Lunceford.
