The view suggests this had to be taken atop the Fisher Building on Grand.

There aren't any lane lines painted onto the roads. Hopefully they've corrected this by now. Is this still a one-way road?

Still a one way road. The area near the top of the picture is being transformed into a TechTown. I teach in the area.

Look at those historic apartment buildings, long gone razed, just like thousands of them over the last 60 + years. Detroit is but a shell of what it once was, which was a great international city.

Looking north on Woodward Ave., from the Maccabee[s] Building with the Fisher Building at the far left, and the Wardell Hotel at the middle right, Detroit, Mich. (LOC)

It appears to be the Detroit Institute of Arts on the immediate right and the Detroit Public Library on the left. Interesting to note the Woodward streetcar tracks are still in the middle of the road at this time ( they stopped running in 1956 ) . This picture appears to have been taken on the roof of a building that now belongs to Wayne State University ( Woodward at Warren Avenue ) .

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Woodward Sights, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
