I wonder if pellethepoet knows where this is?

I think that Harrington Lane no longer exists. I think it was under what is now the Four Seasons Hotel in the area bounded by Harrington Street, George Street and the Cahill Expressway - although it probably used to cross the line of what is now the Cahill - I'm trying to find an old online map to confirm this. It is probably less than 50 metres from where the city office of State Records NSW currently sits.

Museums of History NSW - State Archives Collection What a lovely suprise! An undiscovered image of Ferry Lane - who would have thunk it! I love the touch of the boy in the foreground. I must say it is strikingly similiar to the John Henry Harvey photo I identified at the State Library of Victoria, which I mentioned here

OK, pellethepoet and beachcomberaustralia are you saying that this is definately NOT a pic of Harrington Lane? And could you please teach me how you put the little member icons/avatars into the comments?

BobMeade Just hover over and press the "Reply" button on the message above. BobMeade BobMeade BobMeade BobMeade BobMeade Yes it is Ferry Lane - pellethepoet's favourite laneway! Definitely NOT Harrington Lane, which is a block north of where you thought - in the block bounded by Harrington, Argyle, George and Globe Streets. See here at large size -
