    The lower photograph is a part of the photograph showing Dr Gillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne (1806 - 1875) and his assistant performing their 'Faradism' experiment on a live subject. The original photo can be found at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Duchenne_de_Boulogne_3.jpg Dr. Gillaume Duchenne is considered as the father of the application of electricity in medicine. His famous book : De l'électrisation localisée et son application à la pathologie et à la thérapeutique

    This is so classic! I remember seeing those photos for the first time -- I was staring in awe and thinking this was too strange to be true. And it was true. It's in the photos! I guess that was one of the first times when I really understood the power of photography. :) (Take what I wrote with a small wink, please. There is some truth to it, though.)
