from Wikipedia: Francisco Ignacio Madero González (October 30, 1873 – February 22, 1913) was a politician, writer and revolutionary who served as President of Mexico from 1911 to 1913. As a respectable upper-class politician, he supplied a center around which opposition to the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz could coalesce. However, once Díaz was deposed, he proved to be ineffective and the Mexican Revolution quickly spun out of Madero's control. He was deposed and executed by the Porfirista military and his aides, which he neglected to replace with revolutionary supporters. His assassination was followed by the most violent period of the revolution in Mexico (1913–1917) until the Constitution of 1917 and revolutionary president Venustiano Carranza achieved some degree of stability. Followers of Madero were known as Maderistas.

There´s the same picture with more definition you can see Madero´s rigtht hand vandaged and hanging over the chest. That means that this picture must been taken after Casas Grandes balttle (or just later) which took place on March 6, 1911. After Casas Grandes fail, Madero retreated to Bustillos Hacienda. Maybe this picture was taken nearby. Dr. Roberto Duarte

You can see a picture of Francisco I. Madero (wearing the same clothes, his right hand hanging on a sling) standing among Pascual Orozco, Guiseppe Garibaldi and Raul Madero, printed on New York Tribune, issue February 24, 1913 [he was slain on February 22] (The Library of Congress, Cronicling America), but surely copied from a photo of C. C. Harris collection, which now is posted in The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles. Both pictures were most likely taken at Bustillos Hacienda (or nearby) where Madero retreated after his failure in taking Casas Grandes on March 6, 1911, when and where he was wounded in his right arm. Hi, you've done a great job. I've just been reading a biography of Thomas Bewick and it made me want to check up on the Newcastle area. Your site's been very informative. I was in Bamburgh Castle probably more than 20 years ago. But my memories--which must be getting fuddled--were of it being by a beach! It's longer since I've been in Newcastle itself. Your pictures have inspired me to get back down there. Whenever my wife and drive through England it's via Cumbria. We must change that. We used to go down through Northumberland via Berwick. The Geordies are great people and very friendly. Thanks for your excellent site.
