I think it is before 1903, because there is a 'same day' slightly lower Cabinet photo showing a man on the weir (lock-keeper or weir-do?!) - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000336208 ... Stuart I think we are at Moy's lock (GeoHive 25" map) and those houses are now permanently underwater, as you can see if you flip from 25" to modern Street map view, since the works at Ardnacrusha.
