    These look like Victorian taxidermical birds set in outdoor 'looking' scenes - note the neatly placed shells, made up ground setting, plus the wrinkle in paper on wall backdrop. Popular hobby to have exhibits of birds or small animals made to display under large glass domes in wealthy home library or museum collections. One can see a few in modern museums as well.
