  Truly magnificent photography. The landscape looks terrific. Composition really is an artform.

  There are lots of entries in local websites including "Finnvalley.ie and megalithic Ireland. It appears that the area has been modernised taking away much of its charm and the setting. Great old shot and nice to know the well still attracts pilgrims.

  At a guess the prints had either not been 'fixed' properly in thiosulphate or the latter wasn't been washed out of the gelatin properly.See my note on 'Hill_00027' (adjacent) ,I think this was laying face to face with it causing differential fading and 'ghosting'
