Everything looks so shiny and high-tech. Ms. Clark looks as satisfied as anyone being photographed with a new Blackberry, iPhone, or Android a century later.

She was the daughter of Champ Clark,(1850 – 1921), Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1911 to 1919, and an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to be the Democratic Partly candidate in the Presidential Election of 1912. The great tragedy of her life was the loss of her three year old son, Little Champ. When his birthday came around, she remembered him by delivering ice cream to children in the hospital. She was also a Suffragette, she ran for Congress, wrote a political column, and was known for her fashion sense, inspiring a hairstyle known as "the Genevieve Curl."

Sarah Jewett Robbins Minturn King (1890-?), daughter of banker Julian Wainwright Robbins (1857-1934) and Sarah Guthrie Jewett Robbins (1862-1939), of New York City. She had a younger sister Julia Wainwright Robbins, who was Mrs. Lydig Hoyt. Her first husband (married 1910) was John "Jack" Wendell Minturn (Yale '05) of New York; they divorced. Her second husband (married 1918, in Paris) was Lt. Col. Van Rensselaer Choate King (Harvard '01), of New York and Newport.
