  Ada Crossley (see note) 1874-1929, was a famous Australian soprano who went to London in March 1894 (returning in 1903) - hence this "farewell" concert advertisement. Ref - adbonline.anu.edu.au/biogs/A080176b.htm . Which implies this photo is February / March 1894 (at 12:44pm!).

  Wait a minute! The Bank of NSW (1894) at cnr George and Bathurst Streets (now a KFC) was not built yet in this photo. The "farewell" concert may have been because Ada Crossley was returning to Melbourne. So this photo is 1892 or 1893. See - www.flickr.com/photos/powerhouse_museum/2363490062/
