The street was never known as Princess Street and would only ever have been written that way in error (a common and easy mistake right enough). Wow--my wife and I got our wedding rings in a shop that would have been on the right side of this photo--though it *probably* wasn't there when the photo was taken ;) Also, in other photos it actually is described as (and spelled) "Princess Street." Perhaps it used to be called that?
