    Looks like a German Naval flag, guns on the decks and the name BUSSARD on the side. A quick Google produced this: marshall.csu.edu.au/Marshalls/html/history/Bussard.html The ship S.M.S. Bussard was a regular visitor to Sydney in the 1890s. That could be Bradley's Head (Sydney Harbour) in the background, with Dover Heights beyond.     @ Enric Martinez - The image looks fine either way, but in your version the ship's name BUSSARD is reversed; also Bradley's Head behind. A lot of these glass negatives have writing on the reverse of the plates (see Persistent URL). I imagine it is something to do with the cataloguing system of the photographer, and would not have shown up in a cropped print or framing mount.
