    Must have been a fairly new shop. The only Haddens in 1911 were a "Supt. Assurance Coy" and family. www.census.nationalarchives.ie

    Yes, they were chestnut for everyday. The ones for church or visiting were shiny patent leather or velvet. But we called all of them "buckle shoes".
