According to the New York Times at query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9A07E3D61F3BE03AB... this would have been May 3, 1919 . 11,000 troops from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa were reviewed by King George V.

The statue is one of the lion bronzes surrounding the Queen Victoria Memorial. According to a comment on panoramicearth.blogspot.com/2006/11/victoria-memorial-by-... it symbolizes Agriculture and was a gift from New Zealand.

Paul Hutchins Definitely a legend. If you have any info, photos - or even family anecdotes - it would be great to see them. Thanks.
