Mrs Mammie Paine's Electric Coliseum Bioscope Show, which was a moving picture show, at the Hoppings held at Jesmond Dene in 1914. Prior to the Great War there were few permanent Cinemas, most people saw films on the fairground.

Of interest to me, is that 17 years after federation, the important and the only flag is the Union Jack (probably better symbolising what all those men died for) and not the Australian Flag. (Or was it simply a question of availability).
