The photo of William Badger in the Baldwin "Red Devil" was taken in 1911 at Mineola, Long Island , also known as the Garden City Aviation Field. This is the same field Glenn Curtiss made his flights in July 1909 .The field in 1909 was called the Washington Avenue Field. Badger killed at Chicago International Aviation Meet August 15, 1911 US Pilot # 36 July 30,1911 Walden Hangar in photo is Dr. Henry Walden

Cecil Peoli, early aviator, died in a crash in Maryland, 1915--see Early Aviators. Seems likely he is shown here with the Baldwin Red Devil airplane--the diagram looks close, if not identical, to the photo above.
