Above the instrument panel near the windscreen you can see the kangaroo mascot which Charles Ulm appears to have set up in the cabin of 'Faith in Australia' in June 1933...shortly before he, Bill Taylor and Scotty Allan took off from Richmond aerodrome on their proposed flight around the world...
trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/246233833 - the Daily Telegraph, 22nd June, 1933...the mascot is mentioned in this item that appeared in the Sydney Daily Telegraph the day after Ulm etc took off from Richmond...
The NLA's Fairfax collection has a couple of pics of the mascot...

If you're interested the NLA's Fairfax Collection has quite a few pics of 'Faith in Australia'...they come up if you go to the Trove records of the mascot I've linked to above and click on the tags..

The aircraft captured in the photo are likely Charles Kingsford Smith in his Fokker Trimotor (Fokker F.VIIb/3m) "Southern Cross" (VH-USU) and either "City of Sydney" (VH-UPI) or "City of Brisbane" (VH-UNJ) belonging to New England Airways. Both Avro 618 Ten ("Avro Ten" or "Avro X") aircraft (license-built Fokker Trimotors) escorted Kingsford Smith's "Southern Cross" during the Sydney Harbour Bridge opening celebration.
