    The Washburn fellow in the Giants' uniform is a mystery. Our initial hunch was that he was former Giant outfielder-turned-pitcher LIbe Washburn on a return visit to the team. But Washburn could have been a non-baseball figure, such as someone from the theatrical world in which Mike Donlin had been employed. Washburn also appeared in photos ggbain.09449 and ggbain.09450 on the Library of Congress website. BH (SABR)
