Consolidated Vultee XB-36 Peacemaker S/N 42-13570 (1st prototype) in flight with six P&W R-4360-25 air-cooled engines and single 110-inch diameter main wheels at Ft. Worth, TX in 1946. After switching to P&W R-4360-41s and a four-wheel bogie-type undercarriage, the a/c was re-designated as a YB-36A and continued flight testing. It eventually wound up being retired in 1952 and used for firefighting training @ Carswell AFB.
